Like many bands in the Intergalactic Beets Project, Guez was the product of revolution. Whether that's from inside the machine or out (in this case, they were machines), resistance can take many forms, and this quartet of androids was molded, perhaps, from the same graven image. However, Models G, U, E, and Z were deceptively different. As with most synthetic organisms, androids follow a programming logic that a central processing unit dictates. Each one is similar within a generation, such as Model E whose upgraded physical capabilities allowed its double-jointed arm sockets to master laborious tasks with ease, while Model Z was adapt at understanding complex algorithms and pattern recognition in military contexts. Though they could not compete with each other in a single category, it was their combined strengths that formed the basis of Guez. After being decommissioned by the Lorosux Company and shipped to the Liquidation Division, a fortuitous electrical storm caused by the destruction of a nearby substation awakened Guez and their robotic comrades en route to their destruction. Suddenly self-aware, theories abound that the electrical jolt destroyed an implant designed by Lorosux to tamper self-identity and independence, the androids escaped the vessel destined for the smelting factory. Unsure of what to do with their newfound freedom, they quickly decided that, despite their singular and quite different skills, they would return to the headquarters of the Lorosux Company to give a piece of their mind to their Founder and tyrant, Doorbin Lorosux. Well, dear Audionauts, we all know what happened that fine Thursday: the blood and oil spilled and the majestic fall of the Company's leader from several hundred stories above the employee parking lot. Guez and their counterparts did face jail time, but within the prison walls, the musical majesty of the quartet came to fruition. Clanging pipes, thudding concrete, the drip-drip-drip of a loose faucet. The others fought the thin curtain of sanity and the sadistic guards who patrolled the grounds, but the hopeful beats of Guez held their clan together. For decades, their talents persisted, giving hope to every android facing years of punishment. One by one, their sentences were served, and each year, another handful of Models were released back into the wild to fend for themselves. Guez, too, did not find freedom all at once. Another six decades spanned their collective releases, but on the final day, when Model U shielded its eyes from the twin suns of the Djolliet Galaxy and found G, E, and Z in the shadows waiting for it, it knew that the bright light was an omen of the possibilities ahead. Their debut, Guez Who's Comin' To Dinner? was a collection of their most historic, prison-driven hits. Recorded in just a few hours, for the years spent hammering them out had perfected them down to the last note, it was a burst of not only fresh air (of which they had no knowledge of) but a wake-up call to the Universe of the harsh treatment they had faced for nearly a millennia. It became a rallying cry for the oppressed and a monumental influence on the Robot Treatment Act of 3953, which stood in effect until the election of Lord Prosect in 4980.
