Mascarpone Beach
Original Release Date: 03/27/2191
Like a phoenix rising from the ashes of his ice cream empire, Mascarpone Beach (formerly Strawberry Yields and also formerly Mascarpone Beach) has suddenly created the strangest Third Act in music history. After the release of his 2189 album Strawberry Yields, in which his descent into the criminal underworld from the high perch as a crime-fighting lifeguard was the main focus, Mascarpone Beach found himself gone from the public eye. Some say his nearly impenetrable compound was assaulted, and the Prince of Treats tossed into a chocolate pool, left to congeal over several days. Others say he turned state's witness and put away his syndicate in exchange for immunity. Initially planned for a 2191 release, though somehow lost to time, Mascarpone Beach's third album, The World Is Mine, is the whole story. The rise and fall and rise of a modern-day Robin Hood who used his vast network of ice cream routes to bring treats to the masses, all while shunning the government's agents intent on making him pay his taxes. This is HIS side of the story, which the newspapers and media failed to report. We are happy to report, dear Audionauts, the release of this long-lost instant classic. Raging with synthetic melodies and beats that thunder like a neon-washed beachside avenue, The World Is Mine feels alive with an artist who has nothing to lose and everything to gain. It remains to be seen why the album never saw the light of day. Mascarpone Beach had not been seen since the raid on his compound, and we do not expect to see him any time soon. However, his third (seemingly final album) is another piece of the puzzle offering hope for the future and tasty beats for all.
