Original Release Date: 06/28/4888

Eight-legged Neptunian pals Slurp & Burp made a name for themselves with their wacky take on songwriting. Slurp, on keyboards, and Burp, on drums, did their best to push the boundaries of what was considered normal. Verses, choruses, bridges, this meant nothing to them. Did it groove? Did it move? Was it smooth? Their self-titled debut (mistakenly marketed as two records for one price), arguably their most famous, featured songs with flip-flopping melodies, electronic voice samples, and wild backing beats. The first single Do Not Adjust Your Television Set, became an intergalactic radio classic, mixing melodies seemingly at random until all the elements fell into place. Their obsession with television, radio, and film helped fuel intricate moments throughout and the vibe of hanging out with your device of choice is felt on nearly every track. A follow-up album, To Slurp Or Not To Burp, failed to make an impression, as many of the elements that made their debut stand out were repeated. Riding much on the success of Slurp & Burp, the duo found a niche in having their beats resampled by other musicians, creating an intricate web that could be traced back to the eight-legged duo.
