We’ve all experienced it: you take a fabulous vacation and you imagine leaving it all behind and living in paradise. The four members of Venus De Miami did just that, emigrating from Venus to Miami Beach, Earth in the summer of 2544 and never leaving. Their ode to the hot sand and hip-snapping vibes of the beach-front town took its name from incorrectly believing hot dogs, a favorite food of Venusians, were called “salami.” Thus, Salamiami was born! But not all of Miami Beach was thrilled with their arrival. Their rather imposing figures, more akin to legendary creatures culled from various slithering, flying, and pouncing species, did not gel with the tanned bodies and near-nude appearance of the Earthlings. However, after playing a sold-out show to much delight, Venus De Miami suddenly found the beaches much more friendly and the menacing pitchforks loaded with suckling pig.
