Humpback
Original Release Date: 03/15/2736
Much like Lucha Libro, the four members of Humpback understood what it was like to grow up in harsh conditions. Their home planet of Zemlia suffered a catastrophic seismic disturbance, splitting the giant nearly in half. The singular government rushed to fix the devastation, but hotter heads prevailed, and built a wall between the now-distinct land masses. Stuck in the madness of a new regime, Humpback found little solace in the green and black world that enveloped them. In his infinite wisdom, the new Head of State had opened a municipal zoo in the center of the capital for those looking for respite to take in the sights and sounds of the animals that had survived. In these confines, Humpback saw themselves: just creatures in a much larger cage. Municipal Chew, their extremely funky fourth album, reignited fans’ enthusiasm after a lackluster third (One Hump, Or Two?) and shed light on the plight of their people. Featuring anthemic protest songs in between spotlighting the courageous townsfolk who helped maintain order, it alone led to the fall of what was known as the Zemlia Security Zone (ZSZ), and the eventual reunification of the planet. Hailed as heroes, they have yet to follow up Municipal Chew, though the people of Zemlia have little reason to complain now.
