The Swamp King Jam
Original Release Date: 04/16/3818
From the steamy river banks of the Crab Nebula came a trio of twangy, funky friends whose influence on future jam bands cannot go unstated. Growing up on the unpredictable lily pads of Anura Hollow, lead singer Bendix playfully added his own soundtrack to the buzzing and thumping world around him. Peers hopping from pad to pad, the trilling of gigantic gadflies, the popping of air bubbles released by bouya gators, all formed the basis for his eclectic style. Add in a few classmates who had access to instruments through their school’s music director and the Porch Jam Band revival suddenly had life. Local talents the Lilypond Sisters and Spider McGee & Me were huge influences on the young trio, credited as songwriters on several B-sides issued from their first album Hippity-Hop. The lead single of the same name turned Anura Hollow into a tourist destination overnight. A local bar even took inspiration from their name: The Swamp Chug Jam.
