Funeral For A Vampire
Original Release Date: 10/31/6476 (1476 AM)
What would you do if you stumbled upon a funeral for a supposed vampire? What if it was in full view of the public? What if you got caught? Funeral For A Vampire were mere children when the true nature of their village came to light. Fleeing the swiping claws and glistening fangs of their community would have otherwise scarred a normal creature, but the journey they took to finally break free of the hypnotic cycle of their people was just the beginning of their sonic fury. For generations, specially selected offspring had been raised to be mere blood bags for the convent of preying monsters (for clarity, not all vampires fall under this category; see: Thirst Receptors). Lead keyboardist Noodles and his crew of hellraisers did not know this fate until their normally tedious winter forced upon them the true reality of their sleepy town. Under a towering, black cathedral, the adults of the town worshipped the fallen, laid to rest in a plain, wooden coffin. But this was no burial, it was a reawakening. The lid burst forth, a newly minted vampire rising like their feet were magnetized to the ground. Bearing his teeth, it was clear to Noodles why the bulletin board in the town square was full of missing children fliers. Into the woods, they leapt, Dex, Kyv, and Giallo at his heels, wondering if they would ever see their loved ones again. Their debut album "I" (pronounced "one") was a gothic, haunting treatise of that memorable day and the hours that followed, lost in the surrounding mountain crag, fighting off vicious animal attacks in order to find anyone who would listen to their story, all set to echoing keyboards and trilling cymbals. The first of a musical trilogy, we have yet to see the release of "II" or "III;" and, dear Audionauts, if reports are to be believed, we may never.
