Fuzz Wave

Original Release Date: 11/06/3991

Fuzz Wave was, for all intents and purposes, a giant. Nearly 20 Earth feet tall, covered from head to toe in a blanket of red, shag fur, he was like a walking living room. And, as with most giants, there was a fine line between gentle and genocidal. Luckily for us, Fuzz Wave spoke softly and laid down a big beat. Feedback Loop, his most well-known album, was chock full of bass-heavy tunes born from the movement of his people, the Fuzz. For, you see, the Fuzz did not do things quickly, as their height did not allow for fast movements, lest they tip over and be forced to spend the rest of their days rolling to and fro. A race without hands can be either a detriment or a blessing, and the Fuzz somehow overcame this disability by swishing from side to side, their long locks able to seemingly magnetize to objects with their built-in feathering. This painstaking process had been perfected over generations, leaving Fuzz Wave with the tools and the talent to unleash his species' first entry into the Intergalactic Beets Project collection. Feedback Loop is a spinning, thumping achievement, not only because of the recording method but because of the sincerity of the beats. Each track invites the listener to get up and dance like a Fuzz, to join the revolution, and to find the funky beats between the loops. The muffled and distorted sway that permeated the album allowed Fuzz Wave to speak softly and also shout into the void that he was a Fuzz who would not be held back. To this day, the Transistor Stomp, named after the hit single, is a go-to dance bandied about by children coming of age or in blissful matrimony. So, the next time you do the Transistor Stomp, think of its godfather, Fuzz Wave, and go around the beat one more time in his honor!
