Luna Del Ray
Original Release Date: 01/08/3744
Luna Del Ray had been born under the rays of a brilliant Moon Beam, the rarest of celestial events. Light from two suns must intersect at the precise moment in order to thrust the reflection from any moon towards the planet it orbits. Luna was of poor stock; her family a long line of muck farmers. But, her birth signaled hope for her village of Gozzimars, for she was believed to be the reincarnation of evangelist Brite Guese, who had prophesized his return after he had tripped on the uneven roads of the village and swallowed too much of the aforementioned muck. Luna, rejecting this notion, ran away from home at eight years old and fled into the mountains. Gozzimars were known for their exquisite wings of flattering patterns, but they were notoriously frail. After damaging a wing in a rainstorm, Luna took refuge in a cave where she encountered the evangelist, somehow alive and well. He had hidden from the Gozzimars when his promises had not come true, fearing they would kill him. He faked his own death and moved into the highlands, eventually building himself a hovel in the stone. With him was a menagerie of treasures he had collected on his travels of deceit. Among them was a synthesizer which instantly drew the young Luna. The rest of the story, we know, dear Audionauts, as Brite became her manager, and through much more deceit, pilfered her coffers from the success of Beam Me Up, her debut album. One of the youngest artists in our collection, it was her incredible talent, some say gifted from the moon above, that will always be cherished, even as the battle for her royalties continues. When last we heard, she had returned home, back to the muck, her wing still damaged, asking for forgiveness from her village, and her parents. We don't know if they welcomed her with open arms, but, if the courts should ever rule in her favor, we hope that she can still soar to the heights which she set in the bouncing, bright beats of Beam Me Up.
