Q + The Tips
Original Release Date: 06/29/3017
Q + The Tips, unlike their counterparts, relished their time in the studio. Mixing punk, lo-fi, and electronica, they conjured mosh pits and lounge chairs, encouraging their fans to be lifted by their beats and crash into each other like sub-atomic particles. While 17th was not their 17th studio album (that would be 3089’s Still Not Old Enough), it did represent the 17th letter of the Earthly Alphabet and a nod to 17th Street where the legendary recording studio Smash & Grab Records made their home. Locked away for almost a year (that’s 831 Earth days), Q and his band of mischievous beatmakers took every precaution to lay down what would become their magnum opus. Clocking in at only 29 minutes long, nothing in the universe until then had moved so quickly yet lingered so long. Their infectious mix of styles complimented such a large community that their fanbase was comprised of some of the most at-war fanatics in intergalactic history. Though, they could all rest assured, despite their misgivings about other genres, that Q + The Tips had united them to sit back, relax, and bang their heads.
